Application for Initial Registration of Legal Consultants
Service Description: The Department is mandated to maintain the Roll of Legal Consultants. The following are the categories of registration on the Roll;

  (a) Practising legal consultants;
  (b) Non-practising legal consultants;

No person may provide legal services in the Emirate as a legal consultant unless he or she:

  (a) Has been registered by the Department on the Roll as a practising legal consultant;
  (b) Has been issued by the Department with a Legal Consultant Registration Identification Card; and

     1. Has obtained employment with a licensed advocacy or legal consultancy firm in the Emirate; or
     2. Is the owner of a licensed sole establishment legal consultancy firm.
 
Applicants wishing to apply to be registered on the Roll of Legal Consultants must complete the ‘Legal Consultant Initial Application Form’ and submit this to the Department.
 
The Department has the power to suspend or revoke the registration of a legal consultant from the Roll where they have had their right to practise law suspended or revoked in any other jurisdiction.
Forms: Legal Consultant Initial Application Form
Service Fees:  ​The applicable fees for the initial registration of a legal consultant are as follows:
  1. AED 2,000 for a new registration of a practising legal consultant
  2. AED 2,000 for a new registration of a non-practising legal consultant
  3. AED 1,000 for a new registration of a practising legal consultant (UAE National)
