Legal Advice and Opinion

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department provides legal  advice and opinions to all of the Government entities on matters relating to the application of legislation in force in the Emirate of Dubai, which includes:
 
  1. Providing legal opinion and advice with respect to enquiries submitted to the Department by Government entities in relation to any legal issue or statutory provision;
  2. Providing legal opinion and advice in all matters referred to the Department from the Government entities in respect of any legal issue or provision related to the performance of their work, or in respect of their duties and powers or any ambiguity in the application of legal provisions;
  3. Issuing and publishing reasoned legal opinions with respect to interpretation of provisions contained in the legislation in force in the Emirate;
  4. Preparing and publishing legal research, studies and legislation in specialised publications; and
  5. Coordinating the organisation of training programmes and courses with Government entities to ensure the sound legal understanding of the legislation in force in the Emirate to guarantee the proper application of such legislation.
