Government Disputes and Claims

​In accordance with its establishing law the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department is assigned to follow up all matters related to claims and disputes to which the Government or any Government entity is a party. Accordingly, the Department has the following duties:

  1. To receive disputes and claims filed against Dubai Government entities and seek amicable settlement of the same where possible;
  2. To provide legal advice on the merits and further conduct of the dispute in accordance with the legal procedures applicable in this regard;
  3. To represent the Government of Dubai and all Government entities before competent judicial entities and the conciliation and arbitration centres whether as claimant or defendant;
  4. To undertake direct supervision of technical and professional aspects of the disputes and claims handled by consultants and legal personnel of all Government entities in the Emirate.
